Welcome to The Caversham Press, the first private collaborative printmaking studio in South Africa!

Established in 1985 The Caversham Press worked over many years with countless artists from all countries and all walks of life. Although The Press is no longer a working institution we still hold a wealth of information on the many thousands of prints that we editioned in our 1800’s Wesleyan Chapel.

With so many Artists, Prints, Exhibitions and Portfolios printed by Malcolm Christian we cannot load all the information here. So please take your time to view the content and if there is any information you are looking for that you cannot find simply get in touch with us.

We are also working on putting together an online store where you can purchase some of the prints that we still hold in stock, so keep an eye out for that in the near future.

Anyone who has worked at Caversham, whether just for the day or in a residency or for a lengthier time would have been fortunate enough to experience Ros’s cooking – some say that was the reason why they frequented The Press. In celebration of 25 years of Caversham Press, Boston University in the United States hosted an exhibition and editioned a recipe book, Plates Full, a selection of Ros’s delectable recipes. This in turn led to a blog, although brief of recipes from the book as well as other treats she has happened on along the way. You can find Plates Full Blog on here and will soon be able to purchase the book as it is about to be reprinted here in South Africa.

The Caversham Press is truly a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds!
